Snail cream: Korea's newest skin-care phenomenon

Korean women are known for their willingness to experiment for the sake of beauty, often causing headlines around the world for their extreme cosmetic daring. The latest beauty trend to hit Korea isn't the most invasive, but it may be the grossest yet. Korean cosmetics companies are now touting snail guts as the new heaven-sent ingredient for skin care. Creams containing large amounts of snail extract have been selling fast in Seoul. Although Korea is hardly the first market for snail creams -- European cosmetics companies have been selling snail cream for a number of years and a Chilean snail cream hit the market in 1995 -- snail skin-care products have exploded in popularity among Korean women over the past year. Rich ingredientsSnail extract “soothes, regenerates and heals skin,” says Jeong Chang-hyun, deputy head of product planning for cosmetics company 'Able C&C.' 'Able C&C' owns beauty brand 'Missha,' which released a snail cream in June 2010. 'Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream' contains 70 percent snail extract, and the company says it pays great attention the quality of that 70 percent. The snails, the same kind that can be found on menus in French restaurants, are fed red ginseng while being raised in Korea in order to ensure quality slime. Cream d’escargot Korean brand 'It’s skin' also has a snail cream line -- 'Prestige Cream d’escargot' -- which has seen huge success since it went on the market in 2009. The snail cream, made from 21-percent snail extract, is currently the company’s best-selling product. “I had severe adult acne,” says fan Mina Oh, 26, who began using snail cream last winter when her boss introduced her to the product. Oh says that the snail cream is so sticky she has to slap it onto her face with a spoon. That doesn’t bother her at all. “I could feel my skin getting much better,” she says. She plans to continue using snail-based creams. “If you say snail cream, some people ask if whole snails go into it,” says 'It’s skin' PR chief Hong Min-jeong ruefully. According to Hong, the desire for good skin outweighs potential ick factors. Adding a K-Pop idol advertisement into the mix helps make the case. Ads starring boy band 2PM member Nichkun spurred snail cream sales after they started airing in February. In March alone, 70,000 creams were sold. “We are still seeing a boom from those ads,” says Hong. The brand’s snail line features everything from blemish balm to toner to body lotion. 'Cream d’escargot' ₩60,000 at 'It’s skin' stores nationwide. 'Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream' ₩38,000 at 'Missha' stores nationwide.

Health and Beauty Tips

Health and beauty tips by Doctor Fish!Doctor Fish spas and skin treatment facilities are becoming more and more popular in countries like Japan, China, Turkey and across Europe. Doctor fish is the name given to two species of fish: Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. These fish feed on the skin of patient with psoriasis; a common chronic, inflammatory skin disease characterized by scaly patches. The 'intelligent' fish only feeds on the affected and dead areas of the skin, and leaves the healthy skin to thrive. Doctor Fish can survive in waters as hot as 43 degrees Celsius, but nutrients can’t and their not fed either, so when somebody dips their feet in their pool, it’s a real treat. But be weary, sometimes cheap does not mean good, not many people understand Garra Rufa fish vs Chin-chinChin-chin looked rather different from Garra Rufa, chin-chin are apparently starved so when you put your foot into the water, anything is food to them and they naturally start nibbling on whatever dead and flakey skin you have. This then gives the illusion of smooth skin once you’re done with the treatment but it doesn’t have any real benefits.Unlike Garra Rufa which is known for more than 100 years of saving many from skin problems such as psoriasis where fish exude an enzym called dithranol (anthralin) which prevents fast developments of cells from the skin.

Great Tips for Perfect Lips

What do i do if i have thin lips?If you have thin lips don't use dark colors, they will make your lips look even thinner. Instead, opt for sheer pinks and neutral colors. You can also fatten up your lips by dabbing some lip gloss on the center of your lower lip. The gloss will reflect light which gives the appearance of fullness.2. How can i get softer and moister lips?Apply lip balm, blot off the excess and then put on your mat lipstick. Your lips will feel soft and moist. Don't use flavored lip balms, because you may be tempted to lick your lips, which will cause them to chap.3. How can i stop my lipstick from smudging or bleeding? There are many great long wearing lipsticks which last all day. Alternatively, you can outline your lips with a lip liner, it's much better to use a liner that is close to the same color as your lipstick.4. How can i prevent my lipstick from disappearing?First apply your lipstick, next, remove the excess with a tissue, then add some foundation powder and finish with another layer of color. Don't try this with sheer lipstick or glosses because the foundation will distort their color.5. What about women who are 50 or over?Make sure your lipstick isn't too glossy. It's much better to use a semi-mat with hydrating formula, which will give you soft lips all day long.6. How can i make my lips look slimmer?Although many women like Goldie Hawn and other famous stars will pay good money for a bigger pout, not all women like big lips. Try using nude and matte formulas which play down the fullness of your lips.7. What is the best way to enhance my lips?Try applying a lip base that uses paraffin to help fill in lines. Also use a natural lip liner in the same color as your lips. Draw slightly above and below your natural lip line with liner and then apply a light to medium colored lipstick. Little things mean a lot

"Even if the sun refuse to shine, even if romance run out of rhyme, you would still have my heart until the end of time, you're all i need, my love my valentine..” Martina McBride - My valentine. The biggest myth in romance is that you must pull off something big and extravagant so that your efforts will matter. The truth is that what will impress your loved one the most will often be the little things.Little things are rather simple things that you do for your loved one. Despite the fact that they are "little" they can mean so much. Your loved one will be touched that you took the time to show him or her that you care so much. You will be considered thoughtful. All of this plays very well when wishing to be romantic.Consider your loved one’s heart to be a basket. The basket wants to be filled. When you shower your loved one’s basket with many, little gifts, the basket will be filled and your loved one will be content and feel loved. It is as simple as that!Considering the importance of every day little things, think about some new romantic ideas.Just for today:* Pay your loved one a compliment, such as how awesome they look.* Give your loved one a strong hug just because.* Pick a bouquet of wild flowers and present them with a kiss.* Massage their back and/or feet at the end of a work week.* Leave an "I love you" note on their pillow.* Call spontaneously at their work to say “I am thinking about you.”* Place your arm around your loved one in public.Remember, when you take the time to be thoughtful and attentive today, this can usher in more intense romance later on.

It can be done anywhere at almost any time, even if you only have several minutes. It requires no special equipment other than your lungs. You can do a breathing meditation while you are waiting in a doctor’s office, grocery store lineup or at your desk. You can use a regular reminder throughout the day to help you remember to do deep breathing. For example, you could choose to take deep breaths at every red light while you are driving. You can take deep breaths on the hour throughout the day.Focusing on your breath on a regular basis can help oxygenate your body and achieve a nearly immediate sense of relaxation. Here is a simple meditation exercise:You can play peaceful background music while performing this meditation or you can have silence, whichever you prefer.- Sit in a comfortable position where you will not be disturbed. If you have children, it is important to teach them to respect your quiet time. Choosing Cosmetics and Beauty Products

Here are some important things to consider when purchasing cosmetics, skin-care, hair-care, and cleansing products:- Avoid products that do not list their ingredients on the label. Usually these products are full of nasty ingredients that the manufacturers do not want you to be aware of.- Avoid perfumes and colognes and other products that list 'fragrance' on the label. Most contain harmful petrochemicals and are loaded with hundreds of different toxic ingredients. If you must wear a scent, choose a natural, high-quality product made with pure essential oils available in health food stores.Be aware of the fragrances contained in cleaning products, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, creams, beauty masks, deodorants, cosmetics, and other personal-care products.- Avoid many popular brand deodorants since they contain aluminum, a heavy metal that has been linked with central nervous system disorders and other illnesses. Make sure the natural one you select says 'aluminum-free' or something similar.- Beware of most 'natural products' that are not sold in health food stores. Many cosmetic manufacturers boldly declare the 'natural' status of their products. They may even look and smell natural but may be loaded with toxic chemicals. The word 'natural' really does not mean anything, based on the lack of legislation over what 'natural' should mean.Unfortunately, salespeople and advertisements throw the word 'natural' around quite prolifically. In some cases, the claim is true, but in most it is not.- Start purchasing your hair products, deodorants, moisturizers, facial masks, hand and body lotions, soaps, bath and shower gels, hairsprays, hair gels, and cosmetics at a health food store.- Use natural hair dyes or hennas found in health food stores. Many hair salons claim their products are 'natural' but a quick look at the ingredient list reveals items I would never want to come in contact with.

Some essential attitudes

Here's some essential attitudes for confidence, selfesteem, happiness and peace of mind. Learn and apply them.- Everything that happens to me, favourable or not, helps me to learn and to grow. It’s my attitude towards it that counts. I am grateful for every challenge that comes my way.I respond to everything that happens with the question ‘What can I learn from this?’, especially anything that troubles me.- I love being better – not better than others, but better than I was before. No one is better than anyone else, only different. No one is more deserving of happiness than I.- I like myself. I’m kind and considerate towards myself. I take good care of myself. I’m proud to be me, and I love who I am. That’s how I find peace and contentment from within.- I believe in myself. I can do anything I choose – if not now, I can learn. I think, speak and act confidently at all times.- My self-worth does not depend on others approval or on what others say or do. I am not here to conform to other people’s expectations. I nourish myself with love, approval and self-worth.- My self-worth does not depend on my achievements, nor do I allow it to be diminished by failure. That’s why I’m happy to take risks, feel the fear and have a go anyway.- I am accepted, and I respect others. I accept and relate to them as they are and don’t try to change them.

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils made from plants and flowers. It is a healing art that aims to rejuvenate body, mind and spirit. The different smells (aromas), and the chemical constituents of the oils, are said to produce different emotional and physiological reactions. Essential oils can be massaged into the skin, added to bath water or vaporised in an oil burner.Although aromatherapy has been practised in some form or another in various cultures for thousands of years, the modern version was developed mainly in France.Aromatherapy hasn’t yet undergone the same scientific scrutiny as other complementary therapies, but research so far shows that it can be an effective treatment for some complaints. Used in a professional way aromatherapy has little or no negative effects. The sense of smellThe nostrils open up inside the skull to form the nasal cavity, which sits directly beneath the brain. Embedded in the ceiling of the nasal cavity are the olfactory cells. Each cell has tiny, moist hairs that trap odour molecules. It is thought that an odour is translated into electrical impulses by these cells, then passed on to the brain via the two olfactory bulbs. The message is interpreted by a part of the brain called the cerebral cortex. The sense of smell is poorly understood, but we do know that it is linked to the oldest, most primitive part of our brain and seems to have a direct link to our emotions.Change is triggered in the brainAccording to aromatherapy theory, the essential oil molecules bring about changes in the brain. These brain changes, in turn, bring about alterations in various body systems, such as digestion or blood pressure. Some researchers believe that when people experience mood changes or physical changes, it is because the smell has triggered a memory. For instance, if a person feels relaxed when they smell cinnamon, it might be because cinnamon conjures up pleasant childhood memories. However, practitioners maintain that inhaling an essential oil will usually trigger a predictable response, even if the person doesn’t have any memories associated with the smell. Methods for product useAerotherapy/Room Diffused: Air conditioning system—in a 12-16 ounce heavy-duty spray bottle add 20-25 drops of desired essential oil or blend & fill with water. Beauty & Skincare Tips

1. Got dry skin? Here’s a quick remedy. Mash about half a cup of avocado and gently apply it on your skin. Leave on for 12-15 minutes to moisturize dry skin.2. Prevent dryness during cold, windy weather. Avoid washing your face too much and reduce use of alcohol-based toners and astringents.3. Lost with the blush? Smile and pinch your cheeks where they pop out. The blush goes where your skin gets rosy.4. To give your lips a fuller, moister look, apply lip balm, then foundation, then lipstick. Just make sure that the lip balm is fully absorbed into your lips before applying foundation.5. Clean make-up brushes with shampoo. Professional cleaners can cost you a lot of money, but shampoo has enough make-up dissolving ability to keep your brushes clean in no time, andmaintain them for a long time.6. Regularly clean the sponge you use to apply foundation so dust and dirt don’t build up. Dirty make-up will irritate your skin, particularly if you have sensitive skin.7. Hair products could be the culprits if you get breakouts on your forehead and hairline. Rinse your face thoroughly of excess shampoo, and keep your hair away from your face, particularly when you apply any hairstyling product to it.8. When determining a foundation shade’s compatibility with your skin color, do not test on the back of your hand. The best place to test it (aside from actually applying it on your face, of course) is under the chin.9. Do facial exercises to firm and tone the muscles in your face. Lift the corners of your mouth into the widest smile you have. Hold this position to the count of five and repeat five times.10. Make your concealer stay put all day by sealing it with loose powder. The powder will absorb the oil that melts your makeup.11. A mixture of one part powdered milk, one part lemon rind and two parts almond meal make for a great home made facial scrub. You can also add half a part of lemon juice for that extra clean.12. Foundation can make or break a look. Choose the right shade carefully – it should be one shade lighter than your skin color to look natural.13. Mix oatmeal and honey to form a paste and apply it on your face. The oatmeal absorbs oil and the honey soothes the skin. Rinse off the mixture after 15 minutes.14. Use coconut milk as an inexpensive alternative to salon hot oil treatments. Apply coconutmilk onto scalp and hair with a cotton ball. Leave on overnight and shampoo in the morning.15. If you have fine hair, try shampoos that contain wheat proteins and polymers. Theseingredients make your hair look thicker by coating the hair shaft.16. Great makeup is in blending. Blend dark with light in your blush, eye color, even lipstick! You may use the no-edge look to make an optical illusion such as that of a rounder or longer face.17. Stimulate your body’s natural oil glands by dry brushing. With a body brush, lightly brush your skin in circular motion. Follow this with a warm bath and your favorite moisturizer.18. For an inexpensive and effective conditioner, mix one cup of olive oil with one egg and half a lemon to an even consistency. Apply to scalp and hair strands and rinse well with water.19. Dark spots? Rub on lemon over the area and finish off with a dollop of lotion. Citrus juices lighten dark spots but they tend to dry the skin. Lotion will counteract the drying effect.20. Concealers are handy when you need to cover up blemishes real quick. For covering up red blemishes, concealers that are yellow-based work best.21. Cover your eyeliner in plastic and then dip it in hot, not boiling, water for a few seconds. The eyeliner will apply much easier.

Hair Removal

Do you have a problem with the hair on your upper lip, neck, shoulder, leg or in pubic area? then you will have to examine some of different methods for removing hair and decide which one is the best for you.For temporary hair removal - Depilation or removing hair to the level of the skin, lasts several hours to several days can be achieved by:Shaving : One should shave his/her hair area carefully and gently using a proper razor or electric shaver and shaving cream. Make sure you wash and clean your hair area before and after the shave.Depilatories (creams or "shaving powders" which chemically dissolve hair) : Those can cause lots of pain and allergic reactions. We suggest you test in on a harmless spot like your back or the inside of your elbow to check for possible allergic reactions. If your skin gets red or itchy for a long period of time (more than 3 hours) do use it. Again, wash you hair area carefully after using this method for removing hair.- Epilation or removing the entire hair from the root, lasts several days to several weeks and may be achieved by:Waxing : A hot or cold layer is applied and then removed with porous strips. We strongly suggest avoiding using wax for removing pubic hair. Most of the women can not stand the pain and the outcome is as good as the other removing pubic hair methodsPermanent hair removalPermanent hair removal involves several imperfect options. A number of methods have been developed that use chemicals, energy of varying types, or a combination to target the areas that regulate hair growth. Permanently destroying these areas while sparing surrounding tissue is a difficult challenge. Methods include:- Electrolysis : A permanent hair removal methods using electric shocks. The practitioner slides a hair-thin metal probe into each hair follicle. Proper insertion does not puncture the skin. Electricity is delivered to the follicle through the probe, which causes localized damage to the areas that generate hairs, either through the formation of caustic lye (galvanic method), overheating (thermolysis method), or both (blend method). This method is very expensive (It may cost more than a thousand dollars). - Intense Pulsed Light : It involves the use of a specially constructed xenon flash lamp and focusing optics. The focused, broad-spectrum light is applied to the surface of the skin by way of either a hand-held wand or an articulated arm. This light travels through the skin until it strikes the hair shafts or the bulb (root) of the hair. As the light is converted to heat energy, the bulb and most of the hair shaft are instantly vaporized. The intense heat radiated by the hair also destroys the hair-producing papilla or the entire hair follicle.- Laser : Laser hair removal is a laser beam targeted at the hair follicle. The high intensity ray of light gives off heat energy. The laser tracts along the hair shaft, heating it and leading to thermal damage to the follicle while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. The effectiveness of this treatment depends on the concentration of melanin in the hair.Lasers and pulsed light target several follicles at once, so you can treat large areas of skin. While it would take years to perform electrolysis on the back or legs, a typical laser hair removal session on both legs usually takes under two hours. Lasers are great for treating the back, shoulders, arm and chest. For upper lip and chin, lasers work but only on dark hair. If you want to ensure the blonde hairs are zapped, your better bet is electrolysis for permanent hair removal in these areas.Laser hair removal and electrolysis are considered the only permanent hair removal treatment. Although laser hair treatment is promoted as permanent by the industry, this is not strictly the case. It cannot stop the unwanted hair from re-growing. It will, however, slow the re-growth so that it can take several months or years. The re-growth will consist of thinner hair.

Home Detox

You can detoxify your skin without having to purchase expensive cosmetics or going to a spa for a costly one-hour treatment. There are simple recipes you can do in your own kitchen out of ordinary household ingredients that can detoxify your skin. You can make a honey cleanser scrub by mixing together one tablespoon of honey with two tablespoons of ground almonds and half a teaspoon of lemon juice. Rub gently over your face and leave on for 20 minutes before washing off with warm water. This treatment helps smooth the skin by removing dead skin cells.A dry skin mask of oatmeal and honey can also be applied on the face as a moisturizer and cleanser. You can also use a fruit mask to provide vitamins and cleansers for your skin. Take half an apple, which is peeled and sliced, and add a tablespoon of honey, one egg yolk, one teaspoon of ascorbic acid, some vinegar, and two tablespoons of oil. Place all the ingredients in a blender and homogenize until a smooth paste is obtained. You can apply this on your face and leave it to dry for about a half hour to an hour. Then you simply rinse off with warm water. There are also simple detox recipes for meals and drinks that you can follow. Aside from the herbs discussed earlier, there are simple ways for you to heal your body systems and aid them with their job and at the same time lose weight and have a toxin-free life.A ginger tea with turmeric is great for the liver, and especially helpful in dissolving fats and releasing them from the body. Simply mix half a teaspoon of powdered ginger and half a teaspoon of turmeric powder in two cups of boiling water. Allow to simmer for ten minutes, and then add maple syrup and lemon juice to taste.Green tea has been known to contain antioxidants that help in clearing out toxins and harmful radicals in the body. You can also make a simple iced green tea detox drink that can be taken any time of the day. Place six green tea bags in a pitcher and add six cups of cold water. Thinly slice two pitted peaches, or mash them if you like.Add to the pitcher and mix well. You can sweeten the tea with maple syrup, but no sugar. You can also opt to follow a juice fast program. This means that your diet will consist of juices made from fruits, vegetables, and other herbs. Your body systems will be flushed out of toxins, since you are introducing vitamins and minerals with no preservatives into your body. You need a good juicer and blender for this simple option. Doctors recommend leafy vegetables such as parsley, spinach, broccoli, dandelion leaves, and chard among others for juicing. Root products such as sweet potatoes, beets, and carrots are also recommended. For fruits, you should opt for citrus ones, such as grapefruit, lemons, oranges, and limes. Dark grapes and apples are great sources of antioxidants as well. You can add fennel, basil, spearmint, peppermint, garlic, ginger, and many more to your juices. There are several resources that provide the best combinations of vegetables or fruits for the best tasting juices. Try to follow the juice fasting program for a few days, avoiding animal products such as meat and dairy. Do not use sugars and artificial sweeteners to add flavor to your drinks. You are free to drink as much water as you want, and make sure to dilute all your juices with copious amounts of water. Some experts recommend teas as alternatives to coffee, which is a big no-no when undergoing detoxification. Instead of that daily cup of java, you can drink a cup of hot water with fresh juice from half a lemon. The vitamin C in the lemon is a great antioxidant, plus digestion is further assisted. If you’re not into liquid diets, there are detox meals that you can make at home, too.You can enjoy tasty dishes and detoxify yourself without feeling starved or limited.Always remember that herbs and vegetables are helping hands for your body systems. You can make soups with boiled cabbage, carrots, celery, cucumber, or blended tomatoes. You can take carbohydrates from baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, but do not put salt or cheese on them. Vegetable salads can be flavored with balsamic vinegar or some other vinaigrette, without having to use creamy dressings and mayonnaise. For protein sources, you can opt for tofu, soy milk, or fresh fish.It is recommended that you replace two of your regular daily meals with these detox recipes. Remember that you can gradually ease yourself into following this detox menu. Always facilitate your diet with generous amounts of water, and avoid your old habits such as smoking and alcohol.Aside from sticking to this healthy diet and herbal remedies, your homemade detox plan will work better if you couple it with regular exercise. If you feel your body will start aching up from a sudden burst of activity, don’t worry. You can take things slowly, since progression is an essential key to an effective fitness program. You can start by doing basic stretches in the mornings and evenings. Stretching with proper breathing improves circulation and enhances flexibility. At the same time, since stretching provides more oxygen for all body parts, you will feel relaxed after a long day and have an easier time falling asleep.Once you’ve gotten the habit of stretching, you can start five to ten minute walks thrice a week or even daily. Start with a basic and slow pace, as if you’re strolling in the mall or in the park. As you get used to the routine, you can increase the intensity day after day. Intensity can be increased by lengthening your stride, or quickening your pace from a walk to a jog, then to a run.Aside from intensity, it is important to observe the time it takes for you to complete your workout. Since you began at five to ten minutes per walk, you can increase the time interval to fifteen minutes, together with gradually increasing your intensity.Remember that before and after every workout, you must warm up and cool down, respectively. A warm up does not include stretching, but it involves increasing the heart rate and breathing rate, either by running in place or by doing simple exercises. After about five minutes of warming up, and your heart rate and breathing rate have increased from the state of rest, you can commence with your walk or run.The same is followed when cooling down. You can’t immediately stop after an intense walk or run, which is why cooling down is needed to give your systems time to resume normal rates. When you include the exercise with your detox diet, you speed up your metabolism, so toxins are released through your sweat, urine, and feces. A good exercise routine doesn’t necessarily mean you that you only shed pounds ultra-fast. It means that you feel fewer aches, less injury, sleep better at night, and have more energy in the daytime. Your memory is more alert, plus you have better concentration when doing your daily tasks. Coupled with the healthy foods you get from your detox diet, and then you will surely be on your way to total wellness.Remember, detoxification does not need to be expensive. With an established homemade routine, you can follow a program that suits you and your family. You can detoxify, enjoy your life, and reap the rewards of good health at the same time.

Spa and massages in Bali

Visiting a spa is the ideal holiday activity or more accurately the ideal non-activity. Being massaged, creamed, steamed and generally pampered is the ultimate indulgance and the best possible way to relax and unwind. And Bali is the ultimate spa destination with a vast range of exotic tropical ingredients to spice up your spa experience, the most luxurious environments of natural wood, clay and stone and the most caring and genuinely warm attendants to assist you, there is definitely no better place to indulge.Often hand ground by mortar and pestle, the traditional Indonesian herbal concoctions that form the basis of most spa treatments are a sensual feast. More creative modern adaptations also make use of smorgasbord of delicious ingredients such as yogurt, papaya, coconut and a veriety of essential oils.In the popular Javanese "lulur" bath, for example, an exotic blend of spices is used to cleanse and nourish the skin while it is being massaged. The bright yellow mixture has a soft, sweet smell that is conducive to the positive relaxation experience. The spice blend can be showered off with yogurt, leaving your skin feel cool and fresh.Spa design has become a specialized art in itself, with marble and stone, coconut wood and teak, woven cottons and silks commonly being used to decorate the spa area and create an inspirig ambience. The rooms themselves are often spacious and tastefully apointed, sometimes with large sunken spa baths, often with soft lighting and gentle piped music. Some spa resorts are set up like villages, with thatched roof spa huts lining pathways of stepping-stones across a fish pond full of water lily. Each of these huts may have its own garden with waterfall and open but private outlook. The Balinese make wonderful masseurs too with a strong tradition of therapeutic care and a gentle but firm approach to massage. Traditional Balinese massage techniques have been passed down through the centuries, but the range of massage available in Bali is not purely Indonesian. In fact, all corners of the massage world are represented here on this tiny isle. It is possible to have Eastern, European, Swedish and Hawaiian lomi-lomi massages as well as Japanese and Thai techniques. Long firm strokes, circular rubs, acupressure, muscle manipulation and movement of the joints can all be combined to create the ideal massage routine. Massage that makes use of these techniques should relieve muscle tension and improve circulation of the blood and lymphatic system, helping to oxygenate vital organs and remove toxins. It is easy to feel comfortable and at home when you are greeted with a bright smile and some appropriate words of welcome which comes naturally to the Balinese.

Tips for Controlling Acne

Here are some tips that have helped hundreds of people suffering from acne. Hopefully, these will help you too:Water is BestWater is by far the most effective treatment for acne. The main support for this claim is the fact that water is alkaline (pH 7.3) and can be considered as a natural treatment or an almost free acne treatment. Thus, it is best that you drink at least eight glasses of water per day (10 to 12 is better). This will help your body in getting rid of oil, waste and toxins, and water even helps to moisten your skin as it keeps your pores from clogging. Perhaps what is most important is that, water helps to relieve stress and relax your body in the end, so you can have a better sleep. Note that water and sleep are factors that help reduce stress. Along with this, try to lessen your coffees, sodas, teas and alcohols intake as much as possible. The reason behind this is that they are partial diuretics that they drive more water out of the cells of the body than they put in.Avoid AstringentsIf your goal is to have a beautiful skin, then you should try to avoid astringent natural soaps and any astringent agents that shrink your skin’s pores, such as oatmeal, witch hazel, very cold water and rubbing alcohol. It was found out actually that when your skin pores shrink, more oils are clogged in the pores of the skin, causing the onset of acne.Avoid StimulantsCoffee, tea, cigarettes, as well as excessive sugar from sweets and soda should be avoided. It is often said that anything potential for affecting the entire body, brain and nervous system can easily stimulate the sebaceous glands to release more oil. This oil has to leave the body through the pores, worsening your acne in the end. Stimulants even trigger stress.Watch Your DietNote that diet affects acne. So be careful with what you eat. As much as possible, try to eat foods that are low in fat, as fats produce more oils in the body that are capable of producing acne.Avoid AlcoholA number of people think that alcohol is one of the best ways to relax and relieve stress. Well, alcohol may do this, but studies have found out that alcohol causes the formation of acne. It is considered capable for producing acne knowing that it is an astringent, thus it shrinks the skin pores, making them more prone to clogging. Aside from that, alcohol inhibits sleep, therefore causing more fatigue and stress, leading to worse acne.Hot and Very Cold CountWhen considering baths, you should avoid hot and very cold water on areas of the skin affected by acne. Use warm water instead; perhaps well below 98.5 degrees on your skin.Avoid Scrubbing and AbrasivesScrubbing and abrasives should be avoided. Experts have said that they irritate the skin, which should be left intact as a natural barrier against the acne-causing bacteria.Sun for Beautiful SkinAs you may know, sun does kill bacteria, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t harm the skin. Note that the sun also acts as an astringent that dries, tightens and clogs the skin pores. Thus, you should just spend limited time under the sun. At least 15 minutes to the face and arms daily is enough.  Avoid Extremely Cold WeatherIf extreme heat causes clogging of the pores, extremely cold weather causes it as well. So, avoid extremely cold weather so you don’t freeze and clog pores. It is ideal that you moisturize your face and body, and stay in temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.Swimming Does HelpExercise for stress reduction by swimming in a properly treated indoor swimming pool. But, use the Ozone purified pool if possible. It is interesting to know that the swimming pool water is typically 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, which is well below the normal temperature of 98.6 degrees of your body. Therefore, the swimming water cools your whole body, including the acne affected areas, while providing excellent exercise to the rest of you. This even reduces stress as well as physical attention.Think CleanIt is also necessary that you change linens, wash cloths and body towels after each use. It is for the fact that they are great places for acne-causing bacteria to grow and be reapplied to the skin later. Also, wash white facial cloths, pillow covers, as well as personal undergarments daily with Vinegar, tea tree oil or essential oils of Lime, lemon or orange so to lessen the acne-related bacterial development. It is also often suggested that you apply a natural detergent for washing.Indeed, there are a lot of ways to control and fight acne, but maintaining a healthy lifestyle is so far the best one to consider. It is important to note that healthy lifestyles will lead you to attaining a healthier skin and a healthier body. Changing your unfavorable habits will reward you with better general health, more energy, and clearer skin to show the world. If you were once afraid to make changes, please don’t be. Of course, the initial affects may be hard to grasp at first, but as you go on, you will find out that you can quickly learn to adapt with them.
